Time For New Beginnings

Wisconsin is truly beautiful.

I've only been here for a few days and already I've fallen for the place. I wasn't so sure I would. The days leading up to the move seemed to drag on and on. The packing, the loading, the preparation for a move across two state lines was intense. Anyone who's moved to another state can attest to this, I'm sure; but this move really tested my mettle. I just wanted to get here...and after nearly 12 hours driving and two Five Hour Energy drinks later we parked the U-Haul in front of our new flat. The street we live on is tree-lined and very quiet.  Sometimes too quiet. I keep listening for sirens and street traffic and it's just not there; despite the sheer size of Milwaukee there is very little noise here on our new location as opposed to my old address in Evansville, In.

But the most wonderful thing that I've noticed here is the people. Everyone here seems so...happy. The welcome mat has been laid out for me in spades. I feel extremely fortunate to be here. As a newly minted Wisconsinite, I feel included. I feel like I should have moved here four years ago. The temperature, the weather... the ever-present breeze from the lake is intoxicating!!

So the logical thing for me to do is to start a new blog, one that focuses on my new life here in Wisconsin. There is a whole lifetime of experiences awaiting me here, on the shores of Lake Michigan and I can't wait to begin.

I hope to make this blog fun and interesting. I also want to capture all of the excitement and wonder that this new beginning is affording me. So here's to new beginnings!!

Love to all,
Noah
